Happy New Year and New Decade 2020
Happy New Year to everyone. After the end of 2019, we have come to see the beginning of 2020. We acquired some knowledge about the world around us last year in addition to what we had prior to 2019 and that assisted us one way or the other to navigate the 365 days in 2019. It follows then that the corrections we made in 2019 and the new information we had which increased and allowed us to review previous decisions and conclusions will help make this new year a bountiful one where we are able to focus on those things that we ultimately need.
Being the beginning of a new decade when we made the tens and zeros the start, it means we also have the opportunity to review the last 10 years of life. That is a substantial period of time. It is long enough a period to have acquired 3 or 4 university degrees, entered college and come out with a Ph.D. in the process, enough time to start a business and grow it into a great business. A lot of the internet services that we have come to rely upon heavily today started in the last 10 years. If you were 20 years old at the beginning of the last decade you are now comfortably 30 years old and a different person from 10 years earlier with the added information and experience. Hopefully, it has been a period of time that you have come to know yourself a bit more and closer to God and more introspective as you continue your sojourn in life.
Of course, many of you already had plans for the new year and it is possible some have fallen off the wagon already. Not to lose hope, the year is still young and it is still possible to be deliberate about things. Those things that you want to achieve can be achieved by first writing them down, writing beside them on the list what is required to achieve them and finally how you intend to follow the requirement to get them done. Establish a realistic timeline and work towards it.
I wish you success in the new year and the joy of looking back at the achievement in the next year.
Happy New Year 2020 once again
COVID-19 and 2020

The New year started with joy and celebration around the world in earnest. The many issues that came to define 2019 were gathering momentum for the new year, the wars in certain regions, the rights-fight for the spectrum of issues from people who see discriminations against them as the tyranny of the majority in what ever issue they felt they were in the minority. The campaign for climate change and good stewardship on the parts of governments and people around the world.
In the midst of the typical issues, some sound bite was gathering momentum, it sounded like something important was happening in China but there was a lot not known because there was no acknowledgment or denial from China.
That was a few months ago. Now as at today, if you are reading this the day of publication, you are probably somewhere in the world under self-isolation or self-quarantine. The Corona Virus Disease 2019 which is the full name of covid-19 is all over the world. The UN WHO came out and called it a pandemic showing the magnitude of the problem posed by the disease. Governments have shutdown their airspaces, their sea and land borders and locked down their cities and countries to minimize and hopefully eliminate the spread of the covid-19 disease.
This shutdown has put people and populations in a situation that many could only dream about or have only read about in novels. There is so much fear about the implication of the disease because every single day, it seems the test just brings to fore someone who already has the disease and may already be exhibiting the symptoms.
The symptoms are dry cough, fever, pneumonia like symptoms just to mention a few. In some locals, the health practitioners have seen patients with pink eye. To mitigate or slow the spread, citizens are asked to do the following, wash their hands often, avoid touching their faces, nose, eyes and mouths with their fingers, do not sneeze or cough into their hands, rather into the sleeves or a tissue, practice social distancing and regularly disinfect surfaces that are in routine use.
It is the time we have found ourselves in. It is also a time to turn to the Lord. Many are dying day by day as at the time of this writing 30,451 people have been declared dead from this disease including this morning a Princess of Spain while many more over 650000 have the disease. The word of the Lord speaks concerning the strength and hope we have in the Lord and the message of the gospel is available at this time. It is obvious that this is a disease that kills the body but does not kill the soul, we know that God is greater that this disease and at the appointed time will remove its sting. In such a trying time, we look unto the Lord the creator of heaven and earth.
While we watch and listen for update and reduction in the cases connected with this pandemic, lest us continue to practice healthy habits, pray for solution and recovery and pray that the Lord will continue to save men and console the bereaved of this crisis.
To God alone be all the glory and honor and praise. Soli Deo Gloria!
